TYROLEAN APPLES,
Fresh and juicy! (Main growing region: Etschtal, from Merano to
the Salurner Klause). Enjoy our refined-tasting apples planted and
grown with much love by our fruit growers. From Granny Smith (firm,
slightly sour, juicy), Morgenduft (firm, sweet-sour), Gravensteiner
(sweet-sour, refreshing, hardy, juicy), Golden/Red Delicious (firm,
sweet, aromatic, juicy), Pink Lady (brand new!), Braeburn (very
firm, crunchy, sweet-sour, juicy), all the way to Jonagold (juicy,
sweet-sour, aromatic) the apple connoisseur will find what his hard
desires. Have a bite!
VINSCHGER APRICOTS,
A great flavor! “Vinschger Apricots” is a true treat-enchanting,
with an incomparable flavor. Enjoyed Apple-sized or delicately small,
as apricot liquor or as filling in dumplings, they are always delicious.
Especially famous are the “Laaser“ apricots. You can
sample apricots at a so-called “Marmorfest” where typical
South Tyrolean products ranging from crafts to culinary treats are
being presented including items made from “Marmor” which
is the word for marble.
PEARS,
An incomparable flavor! Kaiser Alexander, Pala-Pears (mainly from
the region of Obervinschgau) and Williams are probably the most
well known varieties of our province. Williams Pear Brandy is one
of the most famous distillates using only select quality and home
grown Williams Pears. A large selection of Williams’ distillate
is available. For example, in the production of the “Edel-Williams-Brand”
exclusively pears from high regions of South Tyrol are used, which
are intriguing due to their well balanced and mild flavor. South
Tyrolean pears are always delicious.
